Panna cotta: the recipe
After the complex recipe of Panettone, I thought I own you a much simpler recipe, still very indulgent though: panna cotta. This Italian dessert is one of the best use I know of gelatin ;)
Panna cotta (for 6 persons)
- 500 mL of whipping cream (32-35% of fats)
- 100 g of white sugar
- A teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 50 mL of cold water
- 50 mL of boiling water
- 7 g of gelatin powder
Rehydrate the gelatin in the col water. Pour the cream in a pot and add the sugar and the vanilla. Warm it and stir until the sugar will be completely dissolved. Dissolve the rehydrated gelatin in hot water and add it to the warm cream. Pour the cream still warm in individual pots and let them cool down in fridge for 4-5 h. You can serve it with jam, melted chocolate or maple syrup.
