Gelato with evaporated milk: the recipe

 
 

As I promised, here the recipe of my gelato with evaporated milk :)

This recipe is prepared with chocolate powder, the one used for making hot chocolate, just to be clear. Yes, you can also use the one of a popular brand, which starts with letter “N” and ends in “quick” ;)

The cacao flavour is quite subtle, and you almost have the feeling to eat a hazelnut gelato…

Gelato with chocolate powder and evaporated milk

(Doses for 4 persons)

  • 375 mL of evaporated milk

  • 80 mL of fresh cream

  • 3 table spoons of chocolate powder

  • 120 g of sugar (150 g if your chocolate powder is not sweetened)

In a bowl, stir the chocolate powder with 3-4 table spoons of cream, in order to obtain a batter. Add the remaining cream and the other ingredients. Stir and pour the mixture in the gelato machine. Activate the function cooling down+stirring and let it go for about 20 min or until the mass is well solidified.

Transfer the gelato in the freezer and let it rest there at least, 3-4 hours prior to serving.
