Coffee sauce: the recipe

Being the only one who loves coffee in the family (I still hope that my little one will become a coffee lover as the mom, tough :D), whatever I make out of that, I’ll have to eat it all by myself. So, what to cook, this time? Tiramisu? Yummy, eh, but eating that for a full week is not an option, thanks :)

I then came with the idea of preparing this coffee sauce that can be added on ice cream, cakes, pancakes and so on. It is a totally optional final touch, which makes everybody happy!

Coffee sauce

(Doses for 4 coffee lovers)

  • 2 small cups* of espresso or moka coffee

  • 3 table spoons of maple syrup

  • 3 tea spoons of sugar

Put all the ingredients in a small pot and stir them. Bring the liquid to boil and let evaporate for 6-7 minutes. After this time, remove the pot from the stove and leave the liquid to cool down. The sauce should thicken and look as a dense syrup. Et voila’! Now you can use the sauce to garnish ice creams and cakes…for the joy of all coffee lovers :)
